1. Is this included in my subscription?

   • Yes! All 5-Star Students subscriptions include the Hall Pass tool.

2. What is a hall pass?

   • Used for in between spaces (i.e. restroom, health office, counselor visit, etc)

   • No limit to the number of passes a school can create/use

3. Who can create a hall pass type and edit the settings? How?

   • Only Managers can create pass TYPES, edit settings, and create pass QR codes

     • Once the 

4. Who can give a pass?

   • All users with an account – except involvement operators, redemption operators, and viewers – can give and view passes from the website or manager app

5. How do I set up a pass?

   • Tardy pass example

   • Set up QR codes for pass **make sure these settings are enabled on the student app**

     • Only Managers can create Hall Pass QR codes
   • See Hall Pass documentation

6. Can I manage restrictions and exemptions?

   • Manage restricted individuals and groups

   • Manage Exemptions List - ex) students with a medical exemption will not see a warning for exceeding the hall pass limit(s)

7. What are the different ways to give a pass?

   • Staff can add from website and Manager App

   • Student signs out using Kiosk mode

   • Student scans a QR code from Student App

   • Student uses Self-add from Student App and/or School Webpage

8. Can I schedule future passes?
   • Yes! This is a great tool for Athletic Early release or future appointments with a counselor.

9. What if a student doesn't have a phone?
   • The Student App is optional. Without a mobile device, they cannot scan hall pass QR codes or view the pass from their phone. Students are always eligible to receive a pass by any other method: manual add by staff member, kiosk mode, or self-add from the school webpage
   • Staff members with an account can view active passes from the Manager App if they need to verify a pass in the hall.

10. Can I see who has a pass in my class vs. the entire school?

    • Yes! From the add page, you can view your passes only
    • The Active tab will show ALL passes across campus
11. What happens if a student stays out after the designated time limit is up?
    • If the pass is set to NOT auto-close, the pass will show as expired and display their extended time out of class
    • If the pass is set to auto-close, the pass will automatically close after the designated time, whether or not the student checked back in
    • If there is an active limit, the expired pass will continue to take up a pass until it is closed

12. What reports are available?

    • Detail Reports
    • View the History tab
